KEITH’S KULL THE 43RD ANNUAL STARK COUNTY YOUTH MEETING For 43 years several of the congregations of the Lord’s church in Stark County have cooperated to produce the Annual Stark County Youth Meeting. Until this year the youth meeting was under the oversight of the Market Avenue Elders; it now is overseen by the Northwest Elders. An Organizing committee made up of representatives from the congregations involved plans the youth meeting each year. Our meeting this year is scheduled on March 26-27. The theme for this year’s meeting is “GET SERIOUS!” Our keynote speaker is DAN CHAMBERS of Nashville, TN. This is Dan’s second time as our keynote speaker having been with us in 2008 as well. Dan is the evangelist with the Concord Rd. church of Christ in Nashville. He has spoken at many youth rallies and on several lectureship programs throughout our brotherhood. He has also been involved in mission work in Europe, South America and India, and has authored three books: Showtime: Worship in the Age of Show Business; “Where’s the Piano?” and “Is Baptism Really Necessary?” Dan holds masters degrees from Lipscomb University and Indiana University – Ft. Wayne. Dan and his wife Leola have been married for 22 years and have two teenage children. On his first visit with us in 2008 Dan impressed us with his ability to relate and communicate with teens. We are pleased to have him with us again this year. A quick side note: Brothers Chambers will be with us this November for an evangelistic meeting. Also this year, Brother JACK GILCHRIST will be delivering a special keynote address at 1:00 PM on the Saturday of the youth meeting. Jack is the associate minister with the Massillon congregation and has served on our Organizing Committee for several years. Jack is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and the West Virginia School of Preaching. He and his wife Katie have one son, Andrew. The Stark County Youth Meeting is a ministry that attracts between 500-600 teens each year. It requires the efforts of many members in several congregations. This year, unlike previous years all the activities will take place at the Northwest building. This will require a special effort by our members. Please be sensitive to the needs we have to make the meeting a success and help when and where you can. Specifically we will need help in the following areas: 1. We will need people to help in the Kitchen from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 27. These volunteers will be involved in setting up, serving and cleaning up the lunch served to the teens that day. Please sign the list for kitchen help on the east bulletin board. “WHO’S YOUR ‘BARNABAS’?” “And Joses [Joseph], who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement [or Consolation], a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.” Each week we’ve been highlighting a “Barnabas” in the family at the Northwest church of Christ, and this week’s individual to be recognized is Nelda Anderson. Nelda is a very active member of Christ’s body, but, beyond that, she is a very caring member of His Church. She has recently been involved in reorganizing the new church library (along with Winnie German), but her involvement in the life of the body of Christ goes far beyond this into a variety of different areas.
