NORTHWEST LIFE LINES

KEITH’S KULL

On Thursday, December 17, 930 hats and gloves were distributed among twelve Canton City grade schools.  In a thank you note, Carol Johnson of the Compton Learning Center wrote,

“What a glorious bag of warmth appeared at our school right when it’s needed most.  As the temperatures dip lower and lower we notice many of our students without proper winter garb.  As a matter of fact one student saw the bag and said.  ‘Oh, do you think I could get a pair of those gloves?’  You have provided warmth in many different forms to our students.”

Notes from other schools have been received as well.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped out in any way with this ministry this year.  I have no way of knowing who all contributed to the purchasing of the hats and gloves, but I know that those who did so gave with the attitudes of joy and generosity.  Our buyers this year were Millie Mason and Margaret Anderson.  On Wednesday evening Ethan Ash, Joshua Moss, Melissa Willingham and Earl Ash helped pack the hats and gloves for distribution and on Thursday Eugene Fox, Kathy McMichael and Jim Ladson delivered to eleven of the schools.

Chuck and Hope Camarata, Rannie and Nance Cox, Dorothy Sefert, Mary Jacobs and I had the opportunity to go To Fairmount School in Canton and pass out hats and gloves to 95 students.  These students were picked by the principle and teachers as those being most in need of this kind of help. Every one of them was courteous and grateful.

Again, I want to give my thanks to all who supported our efforts this year.  We are already thinking of ways we can improve and possibly expand this ministry next year.  Your suggestions would be accepted and helpful.  As we receive thank you cards from the schools we will post them on the east wing bulletin board for all to see.
