NORTHWEST LIFE LINES
SIX
If you look at the back wall of the auditorium you will see 2 “barometers” hanging on the wall. One of these shows the number of people who have obeyed the gospel at the Northwest church in 2009. The other shows the studies that have, or are, going on that we know about.
You will notice that we have a goal of 15 baptisms for 2009 and that we have had 6 who have obeyed the gospel. That is great news! In 2009 we have led 6 people to a knowledge of Jesus and they have obeyed from the heart and been redeemed from their sins! Six precious souls have been pulled from Satan’s grasp!
Now for the bad news... ONLY 6 people have been redeemed! Of the thousands of people that we few hundred Christians interact with each day on the job, in schools, at the grocery, barbershops, among our friends and family we have only reached 6.
To make matters worse those 6 people came to Jesus by the efforts of only a couple of people.
Brethren, there can only be two reasons that we are not reaching out and sharing the gospel with those that we have contact. Either, we do not believe that they are really lost, or, we do not believe that we will be if we do not reach out and share the gospel with them! Both are Satan’s lies.
The simple fact is that mankind is lost; they do not have to do, or not do, anything to be lost. Those outside of Christ and His church ARE lost. Then too, we are commanded to reach out and share the gospel with “every creature”, that is not a suggestion, it is in fact a COMMAND.
SIX... 6 souls saved from an eternal Hell. Six souls in a community of sixty thousand! Six is a beginning, a start and great news for those six, but very bad news for the other 59994 in Canton, Ohio.
We have a mission, we have a “great commission” and we need to be about the work that we have been given.
Make the contacts! Say something for our Lord! And if you need help conducting the studies, just ask.
Earl

Note: If you have young people who are in Bible classes on Sundays and Wednesdays, it is requested that you go immediately after the conclusion of your class to get them. We understand the desire for fellowship before and after Bible Study periods, but we also must show respect for those willing to teach classes for younger children. A part of this is going promptly to pick up children from class when the study time is over. Our teachers would also appreciate the opportunity for fellowship and, with everyone’s cooperation; we can provide this for them, as well as for parents, grandparents, or others responsible for children. Courtesy and common sense will make an encouraging environment for all at the Northwest church. For those who have been going to get children right after class, we say “thank you.” For those who need to cultivate this practice, let’s start now and show our teachers you care about them and their needs as well. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
Thank You: Thanks for all your prayers, cards and phone calls. In Christian Love, Katherine Green

So, if anyone has any of those lying around collecting dust, please give those to Steve, or any of the office staff. Thank you for helping.

Ladies: All ladies are invited to the next “Ladies Night Out” tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM. This will be the annual “Trash and Treasure” evening. Those attending are asked to bring something from their house that can be given away. Your “Trash” can become someone else’s “Treasure.” In turn, you can find an item (or items) you might want from what others bring. It’s an evening of fellowship and fun, a mini – “garage sale” without the need to exchange money for goods. Come and enjoy the time together with other ladies.

Our lunch reservations are for 2:30pm, so plan to make the trip with us. Please sign-up and mark your menu choice on the women’s bulletin board by November 18th. Please turn your money in to Sonya Ash also by November 18th. If you would like to ride in the church van, make SURE to sign the transportation list on the ladies’ board as well.
