LIFE LINES
Jesus will be at the Stark County Fair!
Someone may ask “Why a Fair Booth?” The answer is very simple; our goal is to let the folks of Stark County know who we are, where we are, and what we believe.
Our display has been carefully designed to identify the Lord’s church and teach the gospel. The information that is provided has been chosen specifically to pique the interest of people and encourage them to study the Bible with us.
There have been a number of people who have worked on the Fair display, suggesting things, making changes and suggesting various materials for the booth. The result is truly a cooperative effort among both the Evangelism group and many other people.
It is our hope that we can generate a large number of contacts for study through meeting people at this booth. We know that people are not just going to wander into our building. People need to have some connection, they need to be invited and that is the intent of having this booth. We will distribute many good materials and invite people to come to worship and study God’s word with us. We have a number of good materials to be distributed including DVD’s, books, tracts and “Bears of Love”, and each item distributed has our contact information on it somewhere. Special thanks to Louise Taggart and Rachel Crawford for stamping the materials, and to all those who made bears!
The Bible tells us in Matthew 28: 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Notice the verse says to “go”, not sit and wait for them, not “send a check”, but to personally “go” and make disciples.
Brethren, we cannot sit in our nice clean, comfortable building and hope that the people of Canton, Ohio find their way to us. We must get out among the people (just as Jesus did) and we must initiate eternal conversations.
Why a Fair Booth? ...Because that is where the people are!
Just as Jesus went to the synagogues of His day, I am sure if He were walking among us today, He would be at the Stark County Fair. And Jesus WILL be at the fair this year, because He is sending you and me to do His work there! Matthew 5: 16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Come and work for our Lord at the Stark County Fair!
-Earl
