Ladies' Activities for 2008

You are important to the church family at 38th Street.  Many of you are already involved in some of our activities.  I hope you will keep your commitments and be willing to try some other areas this year.  I pray that you will join hands as you choose to be a part of His work here.

1.  Ladies Night Out - Coordinator, Nancy Brown 330-492-6326
       This group meets once a month to spend quality time together and work on some community projects such as making tray favors.  Other activities are planned throughout the year as well.

2.  Secret Sister - Coordinators, Sharon Stalnaker 330-837-9130,

       Secret Sisters is a fun way to share and encourage anonymously with a sister in Christ.  They do this by remembering their Secret Sister monthly in some way, remembering special dates and occasions in their sister's life and by having periodic fellowships.  At a designated time, you will have the opportunity to sign up again to be in this activity or take a year off.

3.  Nursing Home / Shut-In Ministry - Coordinators, Hope Camarata 330-494-0839, Nita Hunt 330-479-1126
       The goal of this ministry is to help our members who are in local nursing homes.  They do this by visiting, planning lunches to take in, putting together goodie boxes or other gifts.

4.  Sewing - Coordinators, Wauldine Flinn 330-454-4885; Mary Riffle 330-479-8972; Norma Huth 330-477-6392
       This group meets twice per month to make lap robes for those who are ill and for people who are in nursing homes, etc.  It is not necessary that you know how to sew. There is a job for anyone who may be interested in this ministry.

5.  Baby Showers / Food for Funerals - Coordinator, Mary Lively 330-484-1181
       The goal of this ministry is to make sure baby showers are held for the first baby after becoming a member.  The second area is food for funeral dinners.  The 38th Street congregation provides a funeral meal in the event of the death of a loved one.

6.  Sisters in Service - Coordinator, Ruth McGill 330-454-1506
       This is a sewing project.  The bears made will be used for illnesses and encouragement as needed.

7.  Fit For The Kingdom (Spiritually and Physically) - Coordinator, Sue Moffett 330-492-9426
       This is a walking program for all who are interested.  We will walk on the first and third
Thursday evenings of each month at 7:00 pm at the building.  (One or two miles.)

Special Events

1.  Ladies' Breakfast - Coordinator, Lori Moss 330-966-0406
       A time for fun and fellowship.  A time to grow closer to God and each other.

2.  Mother / Daughter Dinner - Coordinators, Judy Franks 330-874-2565;

3.  Grove City Shopping Trip - Coordinator, Nancy Peshek 330-479-0178
       This annual event is for those who would care to travel by bus to the Grove City, PA Outlet Mall.

4.  Holiday Tea (Trip to Medina) - Coordinator, Sonya Ash 330-830-2120
